California Napa Valley – Winery Weddings

A Napa Valley winery wedding! What could be more perfect than a celebration in Mother Nature’s perfect thumb print, graced with wineries of unique architecture, lush gardens and stunning vineyard settings. Due to strict usage regulations, however, but four of the some 400 Napa wineries are permitted to host weddings, the four  “grandfathered” in due to their pre-regulatory status. Here they are, listed below:

Merryvale Vineyards

Merryvale’s Historic Cask Room is often cited as Napa Valley’s most spectacular setting for special events. Two stories of century-old,  2,000-gallon casks line the stone walls, creating an unforgettable ambiance. Begin your celebration with a Tasting Room wine reception, moving on to Cask Room candle-lit dining.

Beringer Vineyards

Graced with stately 19th century architecture and verdant gardens, Beringer is not only one of the most beautiful properties in California but is also the  longest continuously operating winery in Napa. Venues include the iconic stone-mansion, Rhine House;  Hudson House, with its French doors, high ceilings,  and wrap-around porch; and The Grove, surrounded by 100 year-old Redwood trees.

V. Sattui Winery

In the heart of the Napa Valley, V. Sattui, founded in 1885, occupies a classic building reminiscent of California’s early wineries.  The setting is one of manicured gardens and giant oak trees.  Steps lead to a Courtyard perfect for ceremonies and receptions.  Or choose the flower-edged Lawn, or the castle-like Cellar.  Picturesque areas invite the capturing of images and memories to last a lifetime.

Charles Krug Winery

Founded in 1861, Charles Krug, just north of the town of St. Helena, is in its third-generational ownership of the Peter Mondavi family. Waiting for your wedding are the original Redwood Cellar and the Carriage House – both recently restored. Or gather on the Great Lawn.
